Every technician and installer that came by for this job was a 3rd party contractor for Reliance. We've only found out after the job was completed, that the a/c is TOO LARGE for our home, and it was a very sloppy, lazy install to our furnace. They also used the wrong wiring, which we've been told isn't to code. Our rented a/c from Reliance wasn't blowing cold air in May 2022 and after numerous phone calls to Reliance they finally decided to give us a new unit. A tenant moved out of my semi on Oct 31. Property is at 26A Fairview Ave, St Thomas ON. No one from Reliance contacted me whether or not I wanted to keep the old rental water heater in or replace it with my own.

Someone showed up in with a big drill because we need to build new ventilation to the exterior of our house. Now we live in Toronto so the spaces between the house are going to be small. They said their drill is too big and could not fit in between and they have to go because there is nothing that can be done and they left. So how is it that the first sales guy who said he had 20 years of experience did not catch that?
Electrical Protection Plans
I have a brain injury that requires me to keep it cool. I have suffered extensively with this, through the neglect of Reliance. Why can’t people call back instead of making false promises. The only suggestion thrown out to me was “you have to purchase a new unit” Telling a customer “you have to” is an unacceptable approach. Reliance first said my ducts were in the wrong place.
Had service scheduled, was at home sitting by the front door between 1 – 5 pm as agreed. Instead, they reported that we weren’t home. Reliance has a proud, long-standing partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Marie team donated a furnace to bring comfort and a warm future to the deserving new home owners. The service rep. was knowledgable and very professional.
Reliance Home Comfort competitors and alternatives
I called few time and someone said other department will call me but no one called. Hot water is a daily need, I’ve called every day for the last 3 days to see if they can come sooner. They just make excuses with no real explanation and nor do they care. I would like to withdraw this complaint.

Attention to Mr. Sean O'Brian Hello Sir, My name is Simona Brace, and I live with my husband at 100 Ivy Glen Dr, Maple, Ontario L6A 0P2. We have been loyal customers of Reliance Home Comfort for more than 16 years who pay our dues on time without any concerns or delays. Both my husband and I have been satisfied with this company for the service they... The technician, Jerry was able to correctly diagnose our water heater issue and took the initiative to make sure we were well served by Reliance. He was experienced, professional and listened to our issues and acted right away. We are very pleased with both the technicians and would highly recommend them.

Your advisor, William Paul Choi, persuaded me to rent instead of buying out because the rental agreement will provide the maintenance on my existing furnace and the new AC. Due to this maintenance coverage in the rental agreement, I accepted the rental option. Meanwhile, he just gave me a page proposal that looked like a tear-down from a note book with the remarks of AC rental of 72 months. There were no terms and conditions, even the date was not stated, and no further details. William promised to email me the contracts, but it was never delivered.
We wanted a water heater replacement. Reliance stood us up for 3 appointments. It’s been 2+ months and the new owners still have not assumed the humidifier in my previous home.
Called for emergency repair service on…
I was told this was a great option as we could not afford a brand new furnace at the time. Now three years later I’m trying to refinance our mortgage and I have to have a temporary lean lifted from my property. This process take up to 3 week to complete! I was never told that this was the process. At the time I was told that I could call and the lean would be temporary lifted and It was not a difficult process. I am very pleased with the technician that performed the annual maintenance on our A/C and Furnace.
My air conditioner is 3 to 4 years old. It from the very start needed servicing. Every summer it has had a couple of service calls. I have repeatedly asked for this but get no response.
I called Reliance 3 times to please send me paper statements. Called for emergency repair service on Sunday, the White Rodgers Thermostate Unit stoppped working. The person whom took the Service call could not speak fluent english & I could not understand him at all. Sales person came in the night fill out the form for only air condition replace for rent. She only had ipad and I cant read anything I signed. We're not even sure where to turn to about that.
$15,000.00 and he knows we’ve paid close to $24,000.00 but there’s nothing but the discount I previously mentioned or I would go to collections if I refused to pay. I’ve asked for a copy of the contract, which I’ve not gotten yet. I can’t believe that my mother, a senior, a widow, on limited income was treated so poorly and Reliance’s only concern is to continue to make money.
I am seriously looking into a legal avenue and new company. As I am sitting here now writing you I am waiting since 1pm for a service personnel to repair my air conditioner. This is terrible having to always wait 4 hour periods for servicing.

And the contractor told us, that whoever was uninstalling the tank took all the parts away just to be vindictive. The contractor asked us if we got into a big fight because no one would do this. He had to buy more parts and do more labor work because of this. We have to fork out more money for a simple job. Sales person fooled me, She said she can install the a/c tomorrow and no need to worry only pay less than $50 for month, I will cancel other maintenance fee as well.
